The year was 2002…HTA’s founder, David Centner, had a vision for introducing automated toll payment to the rental car industry. Rental car customers had long been burdened with stopping to pay cash for their tolls, collecting paper receipts for expense reimbursement, or simply running the toll and receiving a hefty violation. This was an era of mass inefficiency. Toll authorities had huge volumes of unpaid tolls, rental agencies had millions of dollars in toll liabilities, and rental customers were idling at toll plazas everywhere.
Fast forward to today…As the pioneer at what we do, HTA is the leading company in our category serving most of the rental car industry. Automated tolling in rental cars has become a customer expectation. We have grown quickly maintaining the highest levels of service while continuing to push the envelope on technology. Technology
With three technology patents and one design patent, we provide customized turnkey electronic toll collection solutions for fleets and transportation agencies. Powered by our proprietary “TollKeeper” software, we are fully integrated with toll roads throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada. Our transponder-based solutions combine specially designed housing units with standard toll-road-issued transponders. Our solutions are supported with full back-end administrative services, including billing, customer service and dispute resolution of toll violations.
